The Terrestrial Natural Products Laboratory is an academe-based scientific laboratory that conducts researches in the field of natural products chemistry particularly in drug discovery from terrestrial plants that are found in the Philippines. The lab sees the potential of the extensive biodiversity of the Philippines and employs the bioassay-guided isolation technique in getting the active compounds from the plant/s of interest.

Researches in this lab targets to add to the scientific community in natural products chemistry and medicine by (1) providing scientific evidence for the ethnopharmaceutical use of medicinal plants that could be useful for developing herbal medicines and food supplements, and (2) discovering unique and noble compounds that could be developed into a drug that targets a specific disease. Today, the TNP Laboratory has developed assays for screening plants for possible use in diarrhea, pain, inflammation, diabetes, and dementia as well toxicity assays such as mutagenicity and anti-mutagenicity assay, and the AMES test.
